A film crew for the Spike TV series Back to the Bar, a follow-up to Bar Rescue, visited Patriot House in 2 Embarcadero Center on Tuesday, July 7th, to get footage for a show to air in the fall.
"They sent in some food critics; they sent in a mixologist to see what we're doing, to see if the consistency is still there," said Patriot House co-owner Danielle Browne. Business has been up 30 percent, she added, since Bar Rescue revamped the former FiDi stalwart The Holding Company into Patriot House in January (the show aired March 29th).
The crew filmed for about 10 hours, she said, from lunch through happy hour and dinner service. The original episode that aired in January focused on the bickering between Browne and sisters/co-owners Natalie Fasoli, Leona Browne and Marissa Browne, along with the subpar quality of the food and drinks and the fact that they were losing $6,000 a month.

Host Jon Taffer updated the decor and name to an historical American theme and added a new happy hour menu, new menu items and specialty cocktails. The show's website gives an update as of March 29th, revealing social media reaction to the new theme and other changes. Taffer didn't make it for this shoot, but Browne said they were told the sisters would be flown to a studio to talk with him during a live show.

The Patriot House plans to make even more menu changes in the next couple of months, Browne said, but she wouldn't reveal specifics. The four sisters from Dublin bought the bar from in April 2014 from Mike Walsh, who had owned it for 39 years. Marissa Browne also owns The Napper Tandy in the Mission.
