The SFPD has made an arrest in connection to the recent beating death of 52-year-old San Francisco resident Evaristo Rocha-Rodriguez.

The department announced today that 31-year-old San Francisco resident Anthony Jones was taken into custody at Market and Jones around 4pm Friday, Sept. 30th, by Tenderloin Station officers.

Jones is suspected of beating Rocha-Rodriguez around 12:55am Aug. 23rd in the vicinity of Market and Seventh. Rocha-Rodriguez suffered blunt force trauma to the head, among other undisclosed injuries, and died in the hospital on Sept. 13th.

Jones was booked into county jail on charges of voluntary manslaughter, assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, and a probation violation. A booking photo was not available at the time of publication.
