Greek sandwich shop and wine bar Souvla is slated to open a third location January 16th at 758 Valencia St. Nestled between 18th and 19th, in the former home of Grub, it joins fellow eateries such as Mission Cheese, Craftsman and Wolves, and Tacolicious.

The restaurant will be open 11am-10pm daily, serving Souvla’s typical fare of Greek sandwiches and salads featuring spit-roasted meats, Greek fries, frozen Greek yogurt, and the country’s only 100 percent Greek beverage list. This includes Souvla’s new private label Greek wines, created in partnership with iconic Greek producer Domaine Skouras.

“When searching for new locations of Souvla, I look for iconic streets, in iconic neighborhoods, in our iconic city of San Francisco,” Charles Bililies, Souvla founder and CEO, said in a press release regarding the newest location. “Our team couldn’t be more excited to be joining the vibrant Mission community.”

To celebrate the expansion to the Mission, Souvla will donate 100 percent of opening day sales to The Women’s Building, located less than a block away.

As we previously reported, January will be a busy month for Bililies and his wife Jen Pelka. From January 1-11Souvla’s original location at 517 Hayes St., which opened in April 2014, will close for renovationsAt the same time, Pelka is preparing to launch champagne bar The Riddler, also in Hayes Valley, in the coming weeks.
