Hungry for something sweet? A new vegan bakery has you covered. The newcomer, called Mac and Moon, is located at 801 Magazine St. in the Auction House Market food hall.
On the website for her treats, the stall's owner, Kristina Ostrom, notes that the operation began with two friends learning how to satisfy their desires for high-quality, cruelty-free desserts. The result: Karmacarons, vegan and gluten-free French macarons that are now the centerpiece at Mac and Moon.
The new food stall offers the vegan treats in a range of flavors, like birthday cake, wedding cake, key lime, fruity pebbles, cherry and strawberry donut. The shop also serves vegan rolled ice cream and frozen teas.
So far, Mac and Moon has one five-star review on Yelp.
"Yes, the macarons are so good that I'll be going back daily," Yelper Rebecca F. said. "If you've sworn off vegan ice cream due to a chemical aftertaste, you won't find that here with this homemade recipe."
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Mac and Moon is open from 10 a.m.–10 p.m. daily.
