Police say the suspect had a bike, although it is not clear if he fled the scene on it. No arrest has been made. The victim suffered minor injuries, but declined medical treatment.

Man stabbed without provocation while sitting on bar's patio

A 31-year-old man was sitting in the patio area of a bar on the 1400 block of Fillmore Street (between Ellis and Geary) around 12:30 a.m. on April 15, when a 35-year-old man approached him.

The older man then punched the younger man without provocation, then stabbed him with a knife. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No arrest has been made.

Phone robbery leads to loss of backpack

On April 13 at 7:15 p.m., a 25-year-old man was using his phone on the 1900 block of Bush Street (between Laguna and Buchanan) when a man aged between 17 and 20 years approached him on a bike. The cyclist struck the victim on the head, snatching the phone from his hand in the confusion and then fleeing on his bike.

The victim dropped his backpack as he tried to chase the suspect's bike. But he was unable to catch him, and when he returned, the backpack, containing various personal items, was also gone. The victim sustained minor injuries, but declined medical treatment. No arrest has been made.
