The older man went inside his house, when he heard a noise in the garage. He found the man he had seen earlier inside the garage, holding a stolen purse and wearing the victim's jacket. The victim grabbed the intruder, detaining him until police responded and arrested him.

Just a few minutes earlier, around 4:45 p.m., another man, 30, witnessed the same suspect attempting to break into his home on the 500 block of Webster Street (between Fell and Hayes). After seeing the suspect jiggle the lock on his front door, he gave chase, but lost sight of him.

Another robbery took place on the 800 block of McAllister Street (between Octavia and Laguna) on May 8 around 9:30 p.m.
