Local fans of grocery stores are in luck. A new Trader Joe’s outpost has opened its doors at 1528 E. 55th St. in Hyde Park.
The chain specializes in organic products while still offering the basics like milk, eggs and meat. The grocery store also offers beer, wine and liquor.
The new locale has already attracted fans thus far, with a 4.5-star rating out of six reviews on Yelp.
K B., who was among the first Yelpers to review the new spot on Oct. 31, wrote, "Trader Joe's is the store but, also the manufacturer so everything in the store is TJ brand. They have a range of options similar to an Aldi or Kroger but, with a strong emphasis on health."
Yelper Jacqueline B. added, “The selection is impressive, or what I'm used to from TJ's so far. I forget they do not have much canned veggies or fruit, mostly fresh or frozen, which is great in the cool weather.”
Swing on by to take a peek for yourself: Trader Joe’s is open from 9 a.m.–9 p.m. daily.
