On September 3, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department was notified of a suspicious death that took place in the 1200 block of Harbison Canyon Road in unincorporated El Cajon.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of 59-year-old Samuel Holthaus, who had suffered apparent trauma to his upper body, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
