The Chicago Police Department (CPD) issued a business alert on Saturday, October 21st about a series of commercial burglaries in the 14th and 17th districts. The perpetrators have been forcefully entering businesses and making off with cash.
The Chicago Police categorize their force by districts, each corresponding to certain neighborhoods. In this case, the 14th district corresponds to the Logan Square and Humboldt Park neighborhoods, while the 17th district covers the Albany Park area.
According to the CPD's alert, on October 18, four burglaries occurred at different city locations in the morning. The suspects are described as four African American males and one unknown person, all aged between 18 and 25.
The CPD is urging citizens to be vigilant, monitor suspicious loiterers, ensure surveillance cameras are functioning, and report anything unusual, or identifying details or vehicles, to the police. This communal effort is key to crime prevention and promoting a safer environment.
