Kevin Whitmer, a youth hockey coach, was arrested by the San Jose Police Department Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce (ICAC) on November 1, for alleged involvement in lewd acts with a minor. As mentioned in the San Jose Police Department's press release, the investigation shows assaults apparently occurred at Sharks Ice rink in San Jose, California, and at Whitmer's temporary residence in the city.

Whitmer was a former Head Coach for a AAA team for the San Jose Jr. Sharks, a Skills Coach for the same organization, and a previous Assistant Head Coach for the Colorado Thunderbirds in Denver.

Whitmer was subsequently taken into custody on November 2, from his residence in Denver, Colorado. Charged with lewd acts with a minor and possession of child pornography, according to the San Jose Police Department. The SJPD ICAC collaborated with the Colorado Springs ICAC and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) ICAC detectives for the arrest.

The identity of the victim remains confidential due to legal and personal reasons. 

San Jose Police Department, post-arrest, asked for anyone with information about this case or similar incidents to assist in the investigation. They've offered numerous avenues for submitting tips, including anonymity options, through the P3TIPS mobile app or by calling the tips line at (408) 947-STOP. The tipster, upon information leading to an arrest, could be eligible for a reward from the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers Program.
