The Windy City is set to give its residents and jobseekers a high-flying opportunity. The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), in partnership with City Colleges of Chicago, has announced that an Aviation Job Fair will be held at Olive-Harvey College next Wednesday, aiming to connect people with careers in the aviation industry.
Free to attend and open to a variety of candidates from recent grads to seasoned workers, the job fair is scheduled from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., located at 10001 S. Woodlawn Ave., as stated on the city's official website. With Chicago looking to soar in job opportunities, attendees will have the chance to meet with pros and top aviation companies, explore various career paths, and catch up on industry trends.
"Connecting Chicagoans to job opportunities is a top priority," Mayor Brandon Johnson voiced his support, according to a statement on the city's website. "This initiative not only aligns with our vision for a city where diverse partnerships foster opportunities, but it also underscores our commitment to ensuring every resident, regardless of background or experience, can access the wealth of possibilities within the aviation industry," Mayor Johnson added.
Prospective candidates are welcomed to walk-in or register online now for the event. At the job fair, participating employers intend to conduct on-site interviews. "I invite all to explore the jobs within the airport that make travel easy, safe, and also provide job growth opportunities," Salgado urged interested parties in the city's release. To apply, jobseekers should come prepared with resumes and a government-issued photo ID.
