An Arizona teen has been arrested after authorities say he shot a man in the head during an argument in Kingman, leaving the victim fighting for his life. The violent encounter unfolded near Thompson Avenue and Castle Rock Road around 8 p.m., January 30, when the Mohave County Sheriff's Office received reports of a gunshot incident, as per the account provided by FOX10 Phoenix.
Arriving deputies discovered a 35-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head at a residence on Northfield Avenue. The man was promptly rushed to Kingman Regional Medical Center and then airlifted to a Las Vegas hospital, where he remains in critical condition, the Sheriff's Office stated. Found fleeing the scene on foot, the 17-year-old suspect had been at the home with the victim when the altercation that led to gunfire escalated, capturing a critical situation gone worse.
Investigations by authorities have divulged that after an argument between the two, "the juvenile produced a gun and shot the victim before fleeing the scene," as documented in a post by the Mohave County Sheriff's Office Facebook page. The suspect was apprehended shortly thereafter and detained without further incident.
The young man, whose identity remains undisclosed due to legal protocols, was initially booked into a juvenile detention center.
