On March 17, chaos struck at the intersection of Ulloa Street and Lennox Way at approximately 12:13 p.m., when a vehicle smashed into people waiting at a bus stop. First responders rushed to the site, but despite their efforts, two victims were pronounced dead on arrival, "This incident was a heartbreaking tragedy," the SFPD announced, according to Hoodline.
Mayor London Breed visited the scene, conveying her sadness and extending thoughts to those affected. "Today there was a tragic collision in West Portal. Two lives were lost, including a child. Three more are in the hospital. I’ve just visited the scene and it is heartbreaking," Breed shared on her official page. The SFPD, along with SFMTA, are rigorously working to uncover the causal elements of the incident, and have not attributed the crash to traffic engineering.
