
Lawrence residents can soon enjoy movies in a new scenic setting with the City of Lawrence's Starry Nights Films at the Fort. According to the City of Lawrence official announcement, the inaugural event is set to take place with a free screening of the timeless classic "Breakfast at Tiffany's" on August 27, at 7 PM. It will be held at the Fort Ben Cultural Campus.
The city, in partnership with Heartland Film, invites residents to bring chairs, blankets, and companions for an outdoor movie night. Food trucks and popcorn vendors will be available. This event offers a chance to enjoy a movie and the late summer atmosphere of Lawrence’s outdoor spaces. "Join us for our inaugural outdoor screening of Breakfast at Tiffany’s on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 7 PM at the Fort Ben Cultural Campus," the City of Lawrence's statement reads. It goes on to invite attendees to "Bring your chairs, a cozy blanket, and a date to enjoy this classic film in a stunning outdoor setting."
The free outdoor movie nights are designed for family and friends to gather and enjoy. The city advises bringing sunscreen and bug spray. The event offers a chance to watch a movie together under the night sky.
