Breeze Airways, the Utah-based carrier, is expanding its reach, announcing new routes that link Provo to both Washington, D.C. and Orlando. According to KSL, these additions are part of their latest effort to ease travel for Utah County residents to two of the nation's most frequented destinations, providing not only a gateway to the nation's capital but also to the famed Walt Disney World.
CEO and founder of Breeze, David Neeleman, expressed enthusiasm for the new routes, stating, "It's an exciting day for us,” during the launch of the Washington, D.C. service. The Provo-Washington service began immediately, while flights to Orlando are scheduled to commence on December 21. As Deseret News reports, the flights to both destinations will run three times a week, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Despite the significance of these new connections for the community, the pricing strategy is competitive, one-way tickets start at a modest $79.
The recent announcement isn't just about new destinations. It's also a testament to the growth of the Provo Municipal Airport, which has witnessed considerable expansion since it added an air traffic control tower in 2005. Provo City's commitment to the airport's development has resulted in new terminals and plans to add even more, catering to an increasing number of passengers and attracting carriers such as Breeze, Allegiant Air, and American Airlines, as reported by ABC4, which highlighted the positive trajectory of the airport's growth.
For passengers keen on taking advantage of the introductory fare, there's a narrow window. Tickets at the $79 introductory rate are available for purchase until October 10, for flights scheduled between December 21 this year, and May 13, 2025. Travelers can now conveniently book their travels to either city, aligning with the holiday season, or plan for next year's travels. Not only do these routes present new travel opportunities for Utah County, but they also reflect an expanding network for Breeze Airways as it carves out a larger niche in the American airline industry.
