The Martin County Sheriff's Office has called upon the public's vigilance in their ongoing search for a suspect implicated in a heinous crime against a child. Jesus Tamanis-Peralta, a 37-year-old man from Martin County, has evaded law enforcement and is suspected of sexually assaulting a young girl over a period of eight years, beginning when she was only eight years old. According to a report by CBS12, the accusations surfaced after a family member confronted Tamanis-Peralta following the discovery of disturbing recordings.
Sheriff William Snyder has expressed urgency in apprehending Tamanis-Peralta, identifying him as dangerous and potentially seeking to flee the United States. Last seen on Thursday in Bradenton, Tamanis-Peralta is undocumented and originally from Mexico. "One of our fears is he doesn't have quite the ties here that tend to keep people, and we're desperately trying to get our hands on him before he goes back to his home country," Sheriff Snyder told CBS12. The Sheriff's concern extends beyond the immediate case, fearing that there could be additional victims.
Detectives have highlighted Tamanis-Peralta's connections to specific locales within the area, including the Monterey neighborhood in Stuart, and the Manatee Creek community. As detailed by CBS12, he is described as having a tattoo on his right arm of an Old English-style "B."
The Martin County Sheriff's Office have disseminated photos of the suspect as well as his description, appealing to anyone with information to contact them or call 911, as per a report by The Published Reporter.
Tamanis-Peralta faces capital felonies and, if convicted, could spend his life in prison. The intensified search encompasses both local areas and the potential for broader reach, as the suspect might attempt to cross international boundaries to elude capture.
