Over the weekend, a tragic incident unfolded on Highway 6 in Utah County. According to a release from the Utah Department of Public Safety, a black Kia Soul was involved in a fatal crash on the snowy afternoon of Saturday. The accident, which occurred at approximately 2:16 PM near mile marker 184, took the life of a backseat passenger and injured several others.
While the Kia Soul was traveling East on SR-6, it hit a patch of winter slicks and lost control, spinning into oncoming traffic. According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, following the loss of control, a white Kia Sportage collided with the Kia Soul, pushing it further into the adjacent lane. Then, a white Kia Telluride, coming upon the scene in the westbound lanes, crashed head-on into the Soul. Unfortunately, the backseat passenger, who had not been wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
The repercussions of the collisions did not end with the unfortunate demise of the Soul's passenger. The driver and the front-seat passenger of the Kia Soul suffered injuries and were rushed to a local hospital by ambulance. The other vehicles' occupants did not escape unscathed, Multiple individuals from the Kia Sportage emerged with minor injuries and were also transported for medical attention, although the two occupants of the Kia Telluride sustained minor injuries and chose not to be transported.
