The holiday spirit is about to get brighter in Jefferson Parish, as the 2nd Annual Lighting of the Oaks at Hope Haven approaches. This festivity, free and welcoming to all, will be hosted by Councilman Deano Bonano and State Senator Patrick Connick on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 6pm. The Hope Haven Fitness Trail, the event's venue, located at 1130 Barataria Boulevard in Marrero, promises an evening illuminated by the grandeur of oaks, as reported by the Jefferson Parish.
As visitors stroll the walking trail, they will be greeted by eight additional oak trees wrapped in lights, an expansion of last year's holiday display. According to Jefferson Parish's official announcement, these lights will not only adorn the trees but also the front view of the Hope Haven Campus and the foundation. The event, set against the backdrop of Barataria Boulevard, will also light up the surrounding streetscape, adding to the community's festive cheer.
Those interested in attending the Lighting of the Oaks are encouraged to mark their calendars and join in on the festivities that brighten the start of their holiday season. With the addition of extra lights along Barataria Boulevard, visitors can anticipate an experience that, walking under lights designed to dazzle, is part of a continued effort to spread holiday warmth throughout the community, as per the Jefferson Parish. This lighting event, reflective of the area's commitment to fostering a sense of togetherness, shines as a beacon of Hope Haven's seasonal joy.
