South Miami is on high alert as police are actively searching for a female porch pirate and her accomplice, believed to be involved in multiple package thefts. Local 10 reports a distinctive-looking individual, caught on doorbell camera, is seen taking a package from a South Miami residence and fleeing in a black Ford Mustang.

The same pair are suspected to be linked to additional thefts across various municipalities, and the South Miami Police's Sgt. Fernando Bosch, emphasized the breadth of the investigation: "We also believe that they have committed the same crime in other municipalities near us, so we are in contact with the other agencies to try to develop more information and try to find the identity of these individuals," Bosch told Local 10. The perpetrators remained at large, with the residents of the community being urged to come forward if they recognize the individuals or have relevant information.

According to 7News, the homeowner of the targeted residence, only identified as Robert, expressed frustration over the incident, which resulted in the loss of a valuable Christmas gift. "It's infuriating. It’s frustrating that (it happened) so quickly," he said. The involvement of the community in aiding the investigation by reporting any potential leads is highly encouraged, as the police and residents aim to prevent further occurrences of such crimes during the holiday season.

Police continue to canvass for more evidence, with the hope that the distinct appearance of the suspect - red pig tails and a unique jacket, alongside the black Ford Mustang, will lead to a break in the case, the resident victimized by the thief pointed out how the package, a Dyson hair dryer intended as a gift for his daughter, was only discovered missing after a neighbor stumbled upon the damaged box, which led him to review his Ring camera footage and confirm the theft that had occurred outside his doorstep and he stated, "Somebody, somewhere has to be able to recognize who they are and call the tip line and hopefully get these people prosecuted for what they’ve done," according to the 7News interview.

An up to $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the apprehension of these suspects, with anonymous tips being welcomed at Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
