West Palm Beach witnessed a tragic event last Saturday when a woman lost her life, and a man was severely injured after being hit by a Tesla car while they were attempting to cross a downtown street. Melissa Nichole Carleen, 25, and Roberto Sanchez Jr., 33, were crossing Banyan Boulevard near Rosemary Avenue around 3:25 a.m. when the incident occurred. According to The Palm Beach Post, the victims were hit by a 2021 Tesla, model unspecified, driven by a 26-year-old male from West Palm Beach.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office reported that the pedestrians were using the crosswalk at the time of the crash. Investigators have indicated that Tesla had a green light to decisively make the crash more complex in its legal and ethical dimensions. Both Carleen and Sanchez were urgently transported to St. Mary's Medical Center. As per information obtained by CBS12, Carleen died following her arrival, while Sanchez was taken into surgery and remains in serious condition.
