A 71-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle yesterday morning in Palm Beach County while attempting to cross a busy intersection. The incident occurred at around 8:25 a.m. at the intersection of Military Trail and Orleans Court. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office provided details on the collision, stating that Elucienne Michel, the woman hit by a 1987 Chevy Suburban, was pronounced dead at the scene, WPTV News Channel 5 West Palm reports.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Michel was crossing Military Trail at the intersection when she entered the vehicle's path. The Chevy was traveling southbound on Military Trail in the left lane prior to the collision. The driver involved in the crash has not been charged, per information from WPBF.
