A toddler in Dania Beach is recovering after being pulled from a swimming pool unresponsive. According to Local 10, the incident occurred yesterday afternoon, just after 5 p.m., on Southwest 29th Way in Broward County.
The quick actions of local authorities and a neighbor helped prevent a tragedy. A witness told Local 10 that a neighbor, who was celebrating his birthday, jumped in to help rescue the child before officers arrived.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue teams responded quickly, finding the child, identified as Lorenzo, breathing and conscious. WSVN reported that the child was taken to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital under a Level 2 trauma alert. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
