On Wednesday, a suspect was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Delray Beach. Janel Tassy, 28, faces first-degree murder charges for the death of James Apollonio, according to the Delray Beach Police Department.
In a release from the City of Delray Beach website, the incident occurred on Monday lasy week in the early morning hours on the 1200-block of SW 27th Avenue. Police discovered 54-year-old Apollonio, a homeless man from Daytona Beach, lying deceased with a gunshot wound.
Tassy remains in custody at the Palm Beach County Jail as he awaits trial. The investigation is ongoing, and further details about the shooting are expected to emerge as the legal process continues.
