Chaos occurred on Interstate 95 in North Miami-Dade this morning after a police pursuit led to a manhunt and multiple crashes. WSVN reported that Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies, in coordination with Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, were chasing a black Nissan Altima when two suspects fled on foot across the highway near Northwest 151st Street, causing collisions and blocking traffic lanes.

Local 10 News reported that Miami-Dade Fire Rescue vehicles were blocking parts of the highway near the collision site. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office confirmed the incident was related to a Broward Sheriff’s Office case that had escalated into their jurisdiction.

The police activity also impacted local schools. Miami-Dade County Public Schools confirmed that Thomas Jefferson/Biscayne Gardens K-8 was placed in a precautionary lockdown as officers searched the area for the remaining suspect. Both suspects are now in custody, as per a WSVN report.
