These closures, slated to occur on separate nights starting March 12, are part of necessary construction activities which include milling and paving of the entrance and exit ramps, guardrail removal, and shoulder renovation works.
According to the DOTD, the closures are scheduled as follows: from March 12 at 8:00 p.m. until March 13 at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting, again from March 13 at 8:00 p.m. until March 14 at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting, and finally from March 16 at 8:00 p.m. until March 17 at 6:00 a.m., also contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists must prepare to adjust their commutes and follow the detour routes which will be clearly signposted. Traveling on I-10 Eastbound, access to LA 1111 will only be possible via Exit 80 - LA 13 (Crowley, Eunice), before proceeding on LA 13, turning east onto LA 1111 (Odd Fellows Rd), and then north on LA 1111 (Tower RD).
Similarly, those navigating from LA 1111 to I-10 Eastbound will have to take a detour route, which includes using I-10 Westbound to reach Exit 80 – LA 13 (Crowley Eunice), and thereafter proceeding south on LA 13, then east on I-10. This re-routing takes aim to minimize the disruptions caused by the closures, ensuring that travelers can reach their destinations with only a slight inconvenience.
It should be noted that during the time of the construction, emergency vehicles will find the entrance and exit ramps at Exit 82 – LA 1111 (East Crowley) inaccessible. The DOTD announcement highlights that there will be no vehicle width restrictions in place during the closure period, allowing for standard traffic flow along the provided detour routes.
