Breaux Bridge residents and I-10 Eastbound travelers are facing roadwork disruptions as the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced an upcoming ramp closure for Exit 109 – LA 328. According to DOTD, the eastbound entrance and exit ramps will be shut from Thursday, April 10, starting at 8:00 p.m. to Friday, April 11, at 6:00 a.m., if the weather doesn't throw a wrench in the works.

The imminent closure will allow asphalt pavement repair work to proceed, and while the ramps are barred, eastbound drivers will need to navigate detours – they'll be rerouted at Exit 115 (Henderson, Cecilia), then directed northwest on LA 347 and back on I-10 Westbound to reach Exit 109, and those rolling down LA 328 (Rees Street) aiming for I-10 Eastbound will find their path veering off at Exit 104 (Louisiana Avenue), then southwest bound on Louisiana Avenue before they can hop back onto I-10 Eastbound, it indeed will be a bit of a detour dance.

Note that emergency vehicles, those sirens of aid and haste, won’t have access to these ramps during the shutdown; however, detour signs will guide them and all motorists through the alternative pathways. The DOTD assures there won't be any restrictions based on vehicle width linked to the work.
