A high-speed chase across state lines came to a conclusion in Northern Utah on Monday morning. Box Elder Dispatch was notified by Idaho State Police of a black Range Rover hurtling towards the Utah state line, after which Idaho authorities ceased their pursuit. Box Elder County Sheriffs and local law enforcement from Tremonton, Utah, picked up the case and located the vehicle on I-84 by 11:10 am.

The Range Rover, driven by an adult female with a male passenger, initially managed to evade law enforcement despite their continued efforts to stop it. It exited I-84 at milepost 32 only to re-enter the Interstate and blaze down the highway once more. Authorities attempted to bring the pursuit to a conclusion using a helicopter, but none were available at the time. With the pursuit pressing on, the chase proceeded south towards Weber County with officers prepared to implement spike strips to thwart the Range Rover's progress.

As detailed by the Utah Department of Public Safety, "Troopers were set up at milepost 32 watching for the vehicle." They eventually lost sight of the Range Rover, forcing them to call off the chase at milepost 351 on I-15 southbound. However, Weber County Troopers were able to deploy a successful spike maneuver at milepost 349 and thereafter conduct a PIT maneuver, effectively ending the chase.

Following the successful spike and PIT maneuver, the Range Rover was stopped, and I-15 SB was temporarily closed to allow for a felony stop. "An adult female driver, and adult male passenger were safely placed under arrest without further incident," according to the Utah Department of Public Safety. Both occupants were booked into the Box Elder County Jail and are facing felony charges as a result of the incident.
