An 18-year-old Nashville resident was arrested on charges related to a shooting incident that left two homeless individuals injured at Riverfront Dog Park earlier this month. The Metro Nashville Police Department confirmed Tyler Moore's arrest, which occurred while he was at his job at a local home improvement store.
According to the news release, the shooting, which took place on the early hours of May 4, escalated from an attempted robbery. Moore, is facing multiple charges, among them are attempted murder, aggravated assault, and especially aggravated robbery. Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division TITANS led by Non-Lethal Shooting Detective Rachel Susee, reviewed area surveillance footage, which played a crucial role in pinpointing Moore as a suspect.
The two victims, a 55-year-old male and a 29-year-old female, were reportedly approached by a group of young men. The confrontation turned violent when the perpetrators attempted to rob the male victim of his marijuana. This struggle culminated in the male victim being shot in the chest and leg, while the female victim sustained a graze wound. Moore's bond has been set at $235,000 by a judicial commissioner.
The incident has raised concerns about safety in public spaces, particularly for vulnerable populations such as individuals experiencing homelessness. Authorities continue to investigate, and further information is expected as the case develops.
