The streets of New Orleans witnessed yet another somber morning as the New Orleans Police Department began investigating a homicide that occurred in the Third District, specifically within the 2600 block of Myrtle Street. As per the New Orleans Police Department News, officers responded to reports of a shooting right before the hour when many residents would have been starting their day, approximately at 7:25 a.m. on Monday.
When police arrived, they found an adult man dead from at least one gunshot wound inside a home. New Orleans EMS confirmed he died at the scene. The Orleans Parish Coroner will determine the identity and cause of death of the man killed in the shooting, according to the New Orleans Police Department News report. The results will be shared after the victim's family has been informed.
