Get ready for some classic summer fun because the annual carnival in La Vergne is making its much-anticipated return this August. Veterans Memorial Park will be hosting the familiar sights and sounds of the midway, courtesy of La Vergne Parks and Recreation and Crescent City Amusements. The event is going to take place over four days, starting on Thursday, August 28, and running through Sunday, August 31, with operating hours scheduled from the early afternoon into the evening. As announced by La Vergne officials, families can look forward to a range of classic carnival eats and an assortment of timeless rides to enjoy.
Whether your idea of a good time is indulging in hot dogs and cotton candy, or you're more about the thrill of midway rides like the carousel and Ferris wheel, this carnival promises entertainment for all ages. The organizers have confirmed that all the functional and available rides, such as the tilt-a-whirl and sizzler, will be up and running; in addition to the armbands being offered for unlimited rides at a cost of $25, they are valid for one use and restricted to two separate sessions, either 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., but please note that if you opt to kick off your fun at 3:00 p.m., keep in mind that the armband expires at the close of the first session.
For those with smaller appetites or selective ride preferences, individual tickets are also available for purchase at the price of $1.00 each, and with each carnival attraction requiring between three to five tickets, visitors can customize their experience. This system serves well for parents and children alike who may want to pace their adventure through the eclectic mix of sights, sounds, and tastes that only a carnival can provide. The staple carnival foods and the variety of rides help in creating those memorable summer experiences.
Set amid the greens of Veterans Memorial Park at 115 Floyd Mayfield Drive, the event promises to be a staple of the local summer calendar. Times for the carnival have been outlined to accommodate both early birds and night owls with Thursday's fun kicking off at 6:00 p.m. and wrapping up by 10:00 p.m., while the weekend extends the joy from early afternoon until late, leaving no room for dull moments with the vast array of activities on offer.
