Attention St. Charles Parish residents and commuters: road closures are set to punctuate your travel plans over the next two weeks. As reported by St. Charles Parish government, a suite of asphalt resurfacing projects will take place, causing temporary disruptions as part of the ongoing Road Maintenance Program.
Today, July 22 will see closures on Adams Street in Killona for paving, with flaggers on site to direct traffic. Further along, milling on 4th Street between LA 52 and Sugarhouse Road in Luling will also necessitate flaggers. Vans Lane in Destrehan will undergo a full closure, render emergency vehicles unable to pass during paving operations.
As the week rolls on, tomorrow, July 23, will carry similar interruptions. Badeaux Lane East and Frickey Lane in Bayou Gauche will see paving, as will Palmer Drive and Amie Street in both Luling and Destrehan, respectively. Each location will be manned by flaggers to assist the flow of vehicles and ensure safety.
Moving towards the weekend, Thursday, July 24, numerous streets in Killona, including Killona Drive, Short Street, Railroad Drive, Julia Street, and Ben Street, will be undergoing paving, with flaggers in place to guide the meandering journey of motorists forced to navigate the stop-and-go of construction.
The workweek wraps up on Friday, July 25, with continued paving on Killona Drive and Schoolhouse Road in Killona. Boutte's 2nd and 4th Streets will also see paving between LA 631 and US 90. Flaggers, as a steadfast presence throughout the project, will continue to manage traffic around milling on 4th Street in Luling.
For those planning weekend activities, Saturday, July 26 presents road work on Post Street in Killona, where paving will once again require the assistance of flaggers. Additionally, Ormond Center Court in Destrehan is currently obstructed from Rotolo's Pizza to Buddy's Frostop due to construction. A detour is in place to facilitate vehicle passage through the area.
