To bolster educational opportunities in technology and business in the Uintah Basin, Strata Networks has stepped up with a significant donation. The company has pledged $70,000 to Utah State University Uintah Basin, as announced on August 20th. This funding is aimed at supporting scholarships and enhancing programmatic initiatives for students venturing into technology and business degrees.
The contribution, which will be dispersed over a span of three years, is set to allocate $45,000 for student scholarships. Under the scheme, five promising students annually will stand to gain from scholarships each worth $3,000, with an inclination to assist those focused on technology or business-related studies. The intention is not just to award monetary support but also to secure a brighter economic future for the region by nurturing its future workforce. Moreover, the remaining $25,000 will be channeled to back faculty within the business and IT programs, fostering a collaborative effort with the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business to create hands-on learning experiences that are crucial to student preparation for professional success.

The connection between Strata and USU Uintah Basin isn't a new one; it draws from a well of previous cooperation aimed at augmenting educational prospects across the community. "Strata Networks has always been, and continues to be, a strong supporter of higher education," David Law, associate vice president for USU Uintah Basin, said in a statement obtained by USU Today. Faculty members Daphne Blanchard and Michael Baily will now work in alliance with Strata Networks to pinpoint and execute strategies that promise to mutually benefit both the students and their benefactor, Strata Networks itself.
Strata's commitment to education extends beyond USU. The company maintains a similar partnership with Uintah Basin Technical College, providing scholarships and program support with the aim to seamlessly prepare students for high-demand technical roles.
