A violent incident disrupted the peace of Pioneer Park in Salt Lake City early Sunday evening as a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of stabbing a 74-year-old man. The Salt Lake City Police Department responded to a call at approximately 7:58 p.m., which led them to the victim with life-threatening injuries, as per the Salt Lake City Police Department.
Officers were quickly able to locate and safely take the suspect, identified as Alex Jones, into custody. According to the initial investigation, it appears the victim was sitting on a bench when he was abruptly attacked.
