Unified Police are currently investigating a fatal incident that transpired in Midvale last Thursday evening. According to ABC4, a traffic accident was reported near Jackson Street and La Salle Drive around 8:15 p.m., where responders found a 23-year-old man, later identified as Mason Snowball of West Valley City, deceased from a gunshot wound.
An investigation was launched by detectives from the Unified Police Department’s Violent Crimes division. Through their initial findings, it was revealed that the victim had suffered a gunshot, which was not initially apparent amidst the chaos of the scene. Later on Friday, a 14-year-old male was taken into custody as a suspect. The juvenile, whose identity has not been disclosed, was booked into the Salt Lake County Juvenile Detention Center, authorities informed.
The arrested teen is now under investigation in connection with the incident that caused Snowball’s death. KSL conveyed its condolences to the Snowball family, indicating the gravity and sensitive nature of the case.
