The Franklin Police Department has officially added a new officer to its force, after Officer John Baker was sworn in last Friday, as per the Franklin Police Department.
Baker, who hails from Nashville, is stepping into his first role within the realm of law enforcement. He finished his police academy training and joined the Franklin Police force quickly thereafter. Baker's entry into the department did not follow the traditional path of his contemporaries; he was not among the group of 14 recruits who began their training together in August, as part of the department's largest-ever class.
His educational background includes time at Samford University, followed by Middle Tennessee State University, having made a transfer at some point during his college career. Though this is Baker's first law enforcement job, his academic achievements and his local roots seem to be a solid platform for his new responsibilities in Franklin.
