The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation (LAWFF) is organizing an auction to support conservation and research efforts through a black bear hunting trip. The event features a three-day guided hunt in Black Bear Management Area Four, along with a two-night stay at Palmetto Lodge and complimentary meals.

As per the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries release, the auction, beginning tonight at 9 p.m. CT, was made possible by a landowner who donated his winning bear hunt lottery entry. Bidding will close on Thursday next week at noon. Information about the auction is available on the LAWFF website.

Funds raised will assist the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) in ongoing black bear research and population management. Since black bears were removed from the threatened species list in 2016, LDWF has continued efforts in habitat restoration, monitoring, and conservation education.
