A tragic sequence of events unfolded in West Valley City as a man's attempt to flee the scene of an accident resulted in his death. According to ABC4, on Saturday evening, October 18, a 69-year-old man caused a multi-vehicle collision on 3100 South and then collided head-on with another vehicle while escaping the initial accident site. This final crash claimed his life.
Witnesses say the man was driving east when he rear-ended a car around 3750 West, leading to another vehicle being struck as well. KSL reports that other individuals involved in the collisons sustained only minor injuries. Details regarding the identity of the deceased man or the specifics of the accident has not been released by local authorities.
In a separate but equally shocking incident, a couple's argument turned physical, resulting in their SUV crashing into a West Valley City church. The crash happened a mere twenty minutes before the fatal incident on 3100 South, causing significant structural damage estimated at $20,000. FOX13 notes that albeit the extent of the damage, there were no serious injuries reported from the church incident.
