K9 Spartan, a 20-month-old Belgian Malinois from Hungary, has officially joined the force, according to a social media post from the Sheriff's Office. Having completed an intensive six-week training program at Ventosa Kennel in North Carolina, Spartan is certified in narcotics detection, tracking, apprehension, and basic patrol functions.
The fresh-faced K9 is slated to swiftly start patrolling the streets of Onslow County with Deputy Pagani. Embracing the ever-evolving fight against crime, the Sheriff's Office is enthusiastic to see this new team in action.
