Multiple incidents on the I-15 in Utah have caused significant traffic disruptions over the weekend. On Saturday evening, a crash on the southbound lanes near University Parkway in Orem resulted in the closure of the center lane, along with both shoulders, as reported by KSLTV. Commuters faced delays as the estimated time for clearance was slated for 9:27 PM.
Further complicating the traffic situation, another collision that involved multiple vehicles occurred early Monday morning near 2700 South in South Salt Lake. This crash was significant enough to block four of the northbound lanes, as per KUTV. The incident was reported to quickly backup traffic as crews worked to clear the scene.
The series of accidents on the I-15 continued with a third crash involving three cars, which resulted in several northbound lanes being blocked and causing major delays. One person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to FOX 13. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and more information is expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
