Jefferson Parish is calling for volunteers to dig in and help green the community this Saturday at Hope Haven. A tree planting event, organized in collaboration with local officials and organizations, will take place on November 8, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The effort aims to beautify the area and provide a lasting environmental benefit, with approximately 50 trees set to be planted along the Hope Haven Fitness Trail located at 1130 Barataria Boulevard, Marrero, LA.
"This is an opportunity for our community to come together, make a positive impact on the environment, and create a green space that families will enjoy for generations," said Louisiana State Senator Patrick Connick, as per a statement on the Jefferson Parish website. The event welcomes volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Tools and trees will be provided, courtesy of Baton Rouge Green, and the day will also offer light refreshments for participants.
Several community partners are making the tree planting possible, including Baton Rouge Green, Louisiana Community Forests, Keep the Westbank Beautiful, Keep Jefferson Parish Beautiful, and the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
For residents interested in joining the event, they can sign up by contacting Senator Connick's office at the provided phone number.
