Richmond was shaken early on November 17 when gunfire broke the morning quiet on the 1400 block of Bissell Avenue. Around 5:55 AM, Richmond police responded to a ShotSpotter alert and resident reports, finding a man suffering from gunshot wounds, as per the Richmond Police Department.
Officers tried to save him, but he died at the scene. The victim was identified as 23-year-old Richmond resident Josue Cornejo.
Homicide detectives later found video of a person of interest and are asking the public for help identifying them. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Farr at (510) 620-6622, per Hoodline.
