Seven people, including five children, were hospitalized following a collision on I-465 in Indianapolis, according to the Indiana State Police. The crash occurred yesterday afternoon in the northbound lanes between the Sam Jones Expressway and U.S. 40/Washington Street interchanges and involved a box truck and an SUV, as per WIBC report.
Authorities confirmed the crash around 12:50 p.m., which led to the temporary closure of the nearby southbound exit ramp. Police and emergency services responded to the scene, and all injured individuals were taken to hospitals, FOX59 reported. Photos at the scene showed a car with significant rear-end damage and a box truck with minor front-end damage.
The road closures lasted approximately two hours, with the Wayne Township Fire Department assisting at the site. WISH-TV reported that the crash caused significant traffic delays on I-465 during the closure.
