Evenflo Company, Inc., a well-known provider of child safety products, has issued a recall for certain Titan 65 child seats, namely model numbers CS200312198, CS200311198, 3712198, and 3711198. The recall, identified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as Recall ID Number: 26C001, addresses a critical manufacturing oversight: the absence of a tether strap, which is a key component in ensuring a child's safety in the event of a crash.
As reported by the Westfield Police Department - Indiana via social media, without this tether strap, a child's risk of injury during a collision significantly increases. Evenflo is taking proactive measures to rectify the issue by mailing owners a tether strap along with installation instructions, at no cost. According to Evenflo's plan, interim notification letters detailing the safety risk are expected to go out to owners on February 20, with additional correspondence set to follow once a permanent fix is available.
Child safety seats are a non-negotiable aspect of vehicular travel for young children, with the tether strap playing a crucial role in securing the seat to the vehicle, thereby limiting movement in the event of sudden stops or accidents. Evenflo customer service can be reached at 1-800-233-5921, where owners may inquire further regarding the recall and how to ensure their child seats are safe and secure as per Evenflo's guidelines.
