Over the weekend, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers responded to an incident in which three young children ingested THC gummies. According to a social media post, the children are expected to make a full recovery. The incident highlights the potential dangers that everyday items can pose to children.
Children’s natural curiosity can quickly lead to unsafe situations. In this case, the THC gummies, which may appear to children as ordinary candy, posed a serious risk. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department emphasized in a social media post that “THC products, illegal substances, and even certain medications can look like candy – and they all pose serious safety risks to children.”
In response to these risks, IMPD is urging residents to securely store potentially dangerous substances. The department recommends checking homes, vehicles, and personal belongings to keep such items out of children’s reach. IMPD emphasizes that all medications, drugs, and other hazardous materials should be safely locked away to prevent accidental ingestion.
