In an extensive operation against the shadow of narcotics that creeps across the Salt Lake Valley, the South Jordan Police Department, together with various state and federal law enforcement agencies, recently cracked down on fentanyl distribution. Following the execution of search warrants on two residences, a substantial amount of illegal substances was seized by authorities, as detailed in a social media announcement from the South Jordan Police Department.
The illegal bounty unearthed from two homes during the operation included 1,552.7 grams of marijuana and 11.5 grams of cocaine. According to the South Jordan Police Department, a dangerous 287.9 grams of fentanyl pills were also among the confiscated items, bringing to light the critical nature of the operation, given fentanyl's potency and the nationwide opioid crisis. In addition to drugs, law enforcement officers also recovered firearms, a stolen Kel-Tec P11 handgun, a PSAK47 assault rifle, and a pistol identified as a ghost gun, which lacks serial numbers and thereby complicates the tracing efforts of such weapons.
