As per the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development release, repairs are expected to take about a week, requiring replacement of the affected motor. DOTD crews were sent to the bridge immediately after the issue was reported yesterday to assess the damage and begin work.
Drivers are advised to use alternate routes and monitor real-time traffic updates through 511 Louisiana. DOTD will provide ongoing updates on repair progress and the timeline for reopening the bridge to vehicles.
