Two men from Gary are now behind bars in connection with the 2022 double slaying of two young women found shot to death in their Hobart apartment. Hobart police identified the suspects as Amos Daylon Crim, 26, and Sa Quan Dajon Kirksey, 25. Both are charged with two counts of murder along with additional burglary charges. The victims, partners Destiny Jackson, 20, and Nazirah Muhammad, 19, were discovered during a welfare check.
Hobart police said charges were approved Tuesday and the arrests happened the same day, according to ABC7 Chicago. The outlet reported that the department credited Corporal Michael Gallagher for persistent investigative work that stretched across a multi-year probe.
How Police Say the Attack Unfolded
Officers conducting the welfare check at the Haven Apartments found the couple shot inside their unit. Investigators have said someone got onto a second-floor balcony, then entered the home through a sliding door. In the months that followed, community members and relatives posted flyers and backed a $5,000 reward for tips, according to earlier coverage.
