Today, a warrant was issued for a New York woman in connection with the Oct. 1, 2025 crash that killed a Marion resident and set off a large emergency response on the east side of the county, investigators said.
Warrant Names Corinth Woman On Homicide, Driving Charges
Court filings obtained by WTHR identify the suspect as 31-year-old Adria Wilkerson of Corinth, New York. The warrant charges her with reckless homicide and reckless driving, and the documents show prosecutors have moved the case into the Grant County court system.
How Investigators Say The Crash Unfolded
According to local authorities, the two-vehicle collision happened Oct. 1 on State Road 18 near State Road 13, directly in front of Oak Hill High School. Investigators say a westbound BMW crossed the center line and slammed into an eastbound Chevrolet head-on.
The Chevrolet's driver, 45-year-old Vicki Colley of Marion, was extricated from her vehicle by first responders and taken to Marion Health, where she later died, as reported by Country Herald. Witnesses told investigators the BMW had been traveling erratically in the moments before impact.
Rescue Details And Medical Response
Bystanders pulled the BMW driver from a burning vehicle at the scene, and that driver was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital with serious injuries, according to local coverage. First responders later freed Colley from her Chevrolet and transported her to Marion Health, and multiple agencies assisted with the chaotic scene.
The collision left both vehicles heavily damaged while investigators worked the scene and collected evidence, as reported by WOWO.
What The Charges Could Mean Under Indiana Law
Under Indiana law, reckless homicide is defined as recklessly killing another human being and is classified as a Class C felony. A Class C felony carries a presumptive sentence of four years, with a typical range of two to eight years depending on aggravating or mitigating factors. The statute and sentencing guidelines are outlined in Indiana Code sections 35-42-1-5 and 35-50-2-6, as published by Justia and Justia.
