Breakfast Little, the Mission-born breakfast-burrito specialist, is gearing up for a second San Francisco storefront in Cow Hollow, taking over a long-vacant Union Street restaurant space. The owner has confirmed the expansion but has not yet announced an opening date, leaving neighborhood burrito fans refreshing Instagram and waiting for details.
New Union Street Outpost
The new shop is slated for 2223 Union Street, the former home of French bistro Gamine, in a roughly 970-square-foot space leased to the operator, according to realtor Jeremy Blatteis. "Breakfast Little is a great fit for the Cow Hollow and we believe will bring genuine neighborhood warmth to Union Street and to San Francisco’s dining scene," Blatteis said, as reported by the San Francisco Chronicle.
What Breakfast Little Will Offer
Breakfast Little built its following on hefty, tater-tot-studded breakfast burritos that come out fast and piping hot. Regulars point to the O.G. as the move, packed with bacon or sausage, cheese and garlic aioli. The counter-service spot keeps things focused with a streamlined menu of breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal bowls and coffee, according to The Infatuation.
Where It Fits On Union Street
Owner Andrew Martinez‑Perez first opened Breakfast Little in 2019 before upgrading to a larger Mission location in 2023. The Union Street outpost will land about two blocks from Mama’s Luncheonette, right in the slipstream of the morning crowd, as noted by the San Francisco Chronicle. The arrival follows a string of recent openings along the corridor, a sign that breakfast and casual-dining traffic is perking up again in the neighborhood.
The storefront at 2223 Union appears in commercial listing archives as a longtime retail property on a busy stretch of the street, and brokers are betting the new tenant will help wake up the block.
