According to Gephardt Daily, officers were dispatched just before 9 p.m. to reports of shots fired near 900 West Timbercreek Way and found an adult man with multiple gunshot wounds. The outlet reports he was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, and police have not released any additional identifying information.
Suspect In Custody, Police Call Shooting Isolated
FOX13 reported that officers took a man believed to be in his 30s or 40s into custody at the scene. Police have described the incident as isolated and say they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public while detectives continue their investigation.
South Salt Lake Police Public Information Officer Shaun Ward thanked multiple agencies that responded, including Unified Police, Salt Lake City Police, West Valley City Police and West Jordan Police, according to Gephardt Daily. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information to call dispatch at 801-840-4000.
